Personal data is information that can be linked to you as an individual. This privacy policy provides information about when and how Tide AS and its subsidiaries (“Tide”) process personal data relating to you.

Tide processes personal data where you have given your consent or as part of the services we provide. It is voluntary for visitors to our websites to provide personal data in connection with services, such as subscribing to a newsletter. Responsibility for data processing at Tide

The day to day responsibility for the processing of personal data lies with the Chief Executive Officer of Tide. Tide has also appointed a Data Protection Officer. The Data Protection Officer’s role is to ensure that Tide complies with the Personal Data Act and associated regulations, and to act as a resource for both the organisation and data subjects in matters relating to data protection at Tide.

Visits to Tide’s websites and use of cookies

When you visit Tide’s websites, your IP address is registered. Tide does not link this information directly to you as a user. The time you spend on our websites is logged, but you remain anonymous to us. This information is used to administer and maintain our websites and enables us to continuously develop better and more user friendly digital services.

Our websites use cookies, which are small data files stored on your computer or mobile device through the browser you use. These cookies belong to specific websites and cannot be read by other websites. Tide’s coach services

When you contact Tide to hire a coach, you complete a form on our website about your trip. Tide processes the personal data you provide in the form in order to handle your enquiry in the best possible way.

The purpose is to deliver our coach services to you as a customer. The legal basis for processing your personal data is performance of a contract.

Processing of enquiries

When you contact Tide’s customer service centre or reach out to us through other channels, such as social media, we process the personal data you provide and that is necessary for us to deliver our services. This personal data is received directly from the data subject via telephone or email.

The purpose is to assist our customers with questions related to our journeys and services, and to follow up on any complaints or claims. The legal basis for processing your personal data is consent, performance of a contract or legitimate interest.

CCTV surveillance

Tide uses CCTV surveillance on buses for the following purpose:

  • To safeguard the safety of employees and passengers through the use of CCTV surveillance.

  • Tide bases the legality of this processing on legitimate interest. It is necessary for Tide to use CCTV surveillance to prevent, deter, avert and investigate unwanted incidents on our buses or against our drivers. The categories of personal data processed in this context are video recordings.

  • Video recordings are processed only if Tide needs to investigate a reported incident, if a passenger has requested access, or if a third party, such as the police or other authorities, is investigating a criminal offence or if Tide is otherwise legally obliged to disclose such information.

Retention period: Tide stores CCTV footage for up to 7 days. If an access request or investigation is ongoing, footage may be stored for up to 30 days.

Rights

If Tide processes personal data about you, you as a data subject have a number of rights that Tide is obliged to facilitate if you wish to exercise them. These include the right to:

Information: You have the right to be informed about how your personal data is processed, including the purpose of the processing and who is responsible for it. The information shall be clear and easily accessible.

Access: You have the right to access the personal data we process about you. Requests can be submitted by contacting us using the contact details below.

Rectification: You have the right to have incorrect or incomplete personal data corrected without undue delay. Requests for rectification can also be submitted using the contact details below.

Erasure (right to be forgotten): You have the right to have your personal data deleted when it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or if you withdraw your consent.

Restriction of processing: You have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted under certain circumstances, for example if you contest the accuracy of the data.

Data portability: You have the right to receive personal data about you in a structured, commonly used and machine readable format, and to have this data transferred to another controller.

Objection: You have the right to object to the processing of personal data based on legitimate interests or carried out for direct marketing purposes.
